In the US our microdot technology has
been so successful for recovery when used in
"sting" operations that most criminals accused,
changed their plea to "guilty" when they found
out that the Police evidence was supported by the
identification of registered Microdots on the stolen
property. It is also a common technique used by police to
identify drugs in "sting" operations.
In 1994, A pro-active risk management
and crime prevention initiative was launched by the
Institute of Insurance Brokers across the UK by their 1000
member firms. Encouraging business’ and individual
policyholders to register their high risk assets and make
them identifiable, in return they would qualify for
special beneficial policy conditions and premium reductions.
DataDot Technology is negotiating with a number of car-makers to have thousands of
DataDots plastic dots no bigger than grains of sand sprayed on cars during production.
These microscopic dots, each of them imprinted with a car's Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), would be sprayed on the underbody, throughout the interior and inside the boot.
